i’ve been trying to get into jott but i don’t know why i can’t. it’s as simple as can be: call in, say your contact, start talking, jott translates your talking into a text message and sends.
but here are the three issues i see:
#1. the first text message you send to someone is so incomprehensibly filled with jott talk that your friend won’t even get your first text. i got around this by just saying “test” in my first message, but still kind of annoying. all of the following texts are just begin with Amanda at Jott or something to that effect.
#2. i’m not quite sure if people can text you BACK if you jott them. anyone know this?
#3. i’m always worried, especially with the background noise in the car, that the other person is going to get an error in translation. which in that case, would be sent to a website page where they can listen to my text message as i spoke it. and then it’s just plain embarrassing.
LETS….. HANG….. OUT……
BAR…. BA….. QUE…. AT….. MY…… HOUSE….
nevertheless i still think it’s awesome, just not sure if it’s practical just yet.

My issue with the service is that if you’re going to use your cell phone to voice to text someone, I have the ability to text them. Perhaps I’m just not understanding the service though.
I think it’s helpful when you’re driving and want to text someone something longer than you can drive with one eye open for.
Then again I could always just CALL like a normal person, but nahhhh.. haha.
